Guidelines for Correct Installation of Roller Bearing

Rollers must be installed with bearings or accessories before use. Some accessories may require complex assembly and specialized tools. It is advisable to allocate an additional day for processing when purchasing rollers and request the manufacturer to assemble the accessories. This will ensure ease of use and efficiency during operation!

Simple bearing installation can be carried out by the printing operator. When installing or disassembling bearings or accessories, the following points should be noted:

1. Inspect the shaft: Check for any wear or burrs on the shaft. Measure the shaft using a micrometer. If the wear exceeds 0.02mm, the shaft needs repair. Excessive wear or burrs on the shaft can lead to abnormal friction between the bearing and the shaft during high-speed operation, affecting the ink transfer function of the roller and causing printing issues.

2. Do not reuse bearings: Disassembling bearings can damage the seal ring, causing leakage of high-temperature lubricating oil and leading to abnormal operation of the bearing. Severe cases may result in bearing seizure, and there is a risk of damaging the printing machine rollers if ball bearings fall off.

3. Proper installation of bearings: Avoid direct impact on the bearing with a hammer. The bearing seat ring is made of high-hardness steel, while the shaft is made of low-hardness cold-rolled steel. Misalignment during bearing installation can easily damage the shaft of the roller, leading to wear during machine operation and affecting the normal function of the roller. Direct impact with a hammer can damage the bearing’s seal ring.

If installing by oneself, small tools can be used: It is recommended to use an L-shaped iron plate to assist in installing the bearing at the correct angle with the roller shaft, reducing the risk of damage to the shaft.
